Since 2003, Sugar & Spice Café has been bringing people together over fresh, delicious food and friendly, personal service. We’re proud to be part of the Poughkeepsie community—a welcoming place to enjoy a meal, catch up with friends, or pick up your favorites on a busy day.
Owner and chef Gregory Procopis brings decades of cooking experience and a simple philosophy to our kitchen: use fresh ingredients, serve generous portions, and make food people look forward to eating. From breakfast favorites to signature sandwiches, wraps, paninis, salads, and daily specials, our menu offers something for every appetite. Enjoy breakfast and lunch all day, settle in for a relaxed meal, or order takeout or delivery.
Through Spice Catering, we bring that same care and flavor to your office, home, or next gathering. Our Catering on the Fly menu makes entertaining easy with breakfast selections, sandwich platters, fresh salads, appetizers, and hot entrées available for pickup or delivery. For private celebrations and corporate events, we’ll help you choose a menu that fits your occasion, guest count, and budget.

Billy, Brandon and the entire staff made our wedding day a truly memorable experience and they were nothing short of amazing. From delicious food to wedding day set-up and logistics, they did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a caterer! From our very first conversation with Billy he was extremely knowledgeable, flexible to our needs and patient with all of our questions. He took the time to understand what we wanted for our big day, made suggestions and was always willing to hop on a call to chat through things with us. Our tasting was excellent and he really set the stage for what was to come with the food that was going to be served. As our wedding got closer we had a walkthrough with our maître d', Brandon, at Locust Grove. He took the time to walk us through everything from wedding and ceremony setup and logistics, to cocktail hour flow and our reception timeline for things like dances and speeches. He answered all of our questions (not to mention the random questions that came to mind in the weeks leading up to the wedding) and gave really sound advice and suggestions for how things should be set up and structured the day of. On the morning of the wedding Brandon was immediately in contact with us. Naturally, I anticipated some questions to pop up throughout the day but, to my pleasant surprise, there were none and I can honestly say that everything was set-up perfectly. The reception room looked beautiful, all the signage was where it needed to be, name cards were taken care of, memory photo table looked great, etc. etc. Beyond this, Brandon and staff also did an amazing job coordinating with our DJ for the ceremony and he was incredibly attentive throughout the entire evening (checking in on us for drinks, ensuring we had food from cocktail hour, double checking on some logistics, etc.). As we went around to talk to guests every single person we spoke to raved about the food and I can honestly say, they were not wrong! Cocktail hour was amazing; the food was delicious, fresh, well prepared and everything was beautifully set up. Dinner was served on time and was just as great as it was the day of our tasting and dessert went off without a hitch! Tremendous thank you to Billy and the whole team for the great work they did!

I have nothing but the most positive things to say about my experience! I just had them cater for my wedding and it could not have been a more perfect choice. From day one, Billy and his team were SO helpful and communicative in the wedding process. They truly made it so everything we envisioned was possible. On the weekend of my wedding, they were unbelievably organized and everything was smooth as can be. Lastly, every piece of food on the day was amazing and everyone loved it. 10/10 recommend Spice catering for your celebration!!!

Billy and his team was beyond amazing from start to finish. Andrea was our maitre d and she legit stood outside and held food for us while we took pictures, which stood out to me as amazing customer service. I would use this vendor again and again for any event. Food was amazing presentation was even better. I used this vendor for my bar service as well. 5 star service.
